Chef Ariel shows us how to make the best of our fruit baskets this holiday season and every day, with this easy-to-make, fabulous apple crumble.

Before you start
Keep in mind, this recipe serves 2
Preheat  the oven to 160 degrees Celsius

For the apple filling
4 apples
25 grams of butter
100 grams of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream
Handful of peeled and chopped walnuts
1 vanilla stick

For the crumble
100 grams of all-purpose flour
100 grams of frozen butter
2 tablespoons of oatmeal
50 grounds of granulated sugar

Preparation
Peel two of the apples and cut them into small cubes. Cut off the top from the remaining two apples and remove the inner stem and core. Make sure to remove any apple seeds. In a pan, melt the butter and brown sugar. Add the diced apples, ground cinnamon and vanilla root. Cook on medium flame for about ten minutes until the apples are caramelised and look transparent. To prepare the crumble, blend the flour, frozen butter and white sugar in a mixer until you have a crumb-based texture. Pour the apple filling into the cored apples and top with the crumble mixture. Place the sliced apple tops to cover. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes until the crumble is golden brown. Serve on a plate with vanilla ice cream and crushed walnuts.
